It’s been a running joke throughout the early stages of our relationship that The Rugby Boy will be entered into the Guinness Book of Records for reaching that particular mile-marker.
It’s a slight exaggeration, and I’ve probably spent 6 months in a relationship with half a dozen guys over the years. But it’s interesting, because all of those relationships were in my teens and twenties.

After all, no matter how much we try to tell ourselves that a gift is just a gift, what you give to your sweetie carries an intrinsic message about how you feel about them and your relationship. Ask around; buying expensive or outrageous gifts when you’re still early in the relationship is going to be a red flag to the majority of people. There are plenty of men – myself included – who’ve made the mistake of overcommitting on a gift too early in the relationship. Sometimes we legitimately trying to bowl them over and effectively buy their affections.
And suddenly being in my thirties adds a different spin to the relationship.
The Six Month Mark The thing about being with someone for 6 months, is that it feels like a relatively long time. We spend 4 or 5 nights a week together, out of convenience, as well as comfort, and in the last 6 months, The Rugby Boy has become my best friend.
Located above the busy intersection of Washington and Illinois streets is the Indianapolis Artsgarden, a unique glass-domed structure suspended 17 feet over street level and rising to 95 feet above the ground.
